Ten Days…..

Jon is away on holiday for 10 days. He is off to Spain for his annual break. I have quipped that I will stand in whilst he is absent, how hard can it be to write a blog post everyday for a week and a bit???? How hard can it be for someone who has barely posted anything since Autumn 2023????
If I am covering for Jon in his absence then all I need to do is make mention of significant birthdays and death days; do a few reviews; photograph my back passage; and BE CONSISTENT. I can do that. Plus, I will make a concerted effort to reply to any blog comments, if I get any.

Today’s significant birthdays – well, obviously Klemens von Metternich (1773-1859) immediately springs to mind. Happy birthday, Klemmy!!!

My back passage…

The Review:- The Fortune Hotel ITV 9pm weeknights – The Traitors meets Deal or No Deal. Easy going background telly. You can fall asleep on the sofa and not really miss anything.

And an obligatory tune…

I will be back tomorrow, maybe. And maybe I’ll even get around to visiting my Blogging chums.

Ooh…you’ve done given me a poke in the nether region wi’ a big stick! My blog is languishing, too. In truth, I am a bit busy, but that’s a pretty lame excuse.

Anyway, since I’ve forced you to reply ( and can I say “Yay! First!” ?) I shall now cobble together a few idle thoughts/excuses of my own.

Dinah! And a comment!! It would be lovely to read a post from you – I thought I ought to shake a broom at this blog space as the spiders were taking over and mould was growing in the damp corners.
      Good luck!

Now that’s a challenge, sometimes Jon posts twice a day, can you imagine doing that? I see a cheery glimpse of pink on your window sill and a picnic table to boot, what joy.

A huge challenge for me, Mitzi!!

Yes, a glimpse of my geranium and rain sodden lawn – though last week was nice – pity about this week!

I don’t know why I’m complaining about the rain as I have hay fever.

Awwwwww….you are too kind Savvy! I’m going to try to get my blogging mojo back, so hopefully after 10 days I will be up to speed.
      I have already written tomorrow’s post :-)

I’m sure he would be, Mitzi, hence I will allow him to do the much needed obituary when he returns. I wouldn’t want to take that away from him.

Well done, Ms Scarlet! Now, if you can keep it up we won’t have to bring out the now rather tatty rota and argue about who’s going to do what until Jon’s back!

    P.S. I’m sorry to have missed Klemmy’s birthday :(

No worries, Mr Devine, I have saved you a slice of cake from Klemmy’s birthday party. He says hello.

I am working on tomorrow’s post – it has turned a little bit gloomy in part. At least I have deleted the sentence about being the unwanted dog in a rescue centre – I think we should all be grateful to my inner editor! But perhaps it is my inner editor that prevents anything being written at all??! And I need to get round that somehow.

      Anyhow, steel yourself for Friday!

Heavens! You really took the challenge and ran with it, Ms Scarlet…

Sorry I missed Klemmy’s birthday party, but it does look like the barbecue was rained-off anyway. I’ll send a “belated” card. What did you do with all that Knackwurst? Jx

I fed the knackwurst to the dog, Jon!!!

Yes, at this point I wasn’t sure if I could stretch myself to 10 days – but it all sort of snowballed. Mr Devine wrote several posts in your absence; Dinah popped up with some news, and now Savvy has taken on the 10 day blog challenge, so it has become ‘A THING’!!!

Jolly pleased that you’re back though! And I hope you had a great time.
