Dear Email Subscriber,
Do you really want this tosh from Ms Scarlet Blue landing in your inbox once a month? You are probably interested in calligraphy and are very disappointed when your monthly email arrives and it contains nothing but photos of Devon countryside, peculiar collages, and random words. I apologise.
I do indeed apologise. I have just this moment stumbled across my ‘Email stats’ – I didn’t know such stats existed. Apparently every time I publish a post it is immediately emailed to 101 recipients. 99% of the recipients open the email, but only 3% click through to this blog. My maths is appalling, but this might mean that 96% really aren’t very interested in my witterings. I am disturbing approximately 97 people unnecessarily!! If you are one of the 97 people then please unsubscribe! You know you want to and I will not be hurt by this seemingly callous action!
I am a little bit worried about the 3 people who don’t open the email at all. It is possible that they delete the email immediately, or they might be dead – it happens to us all, and I doubt we get to sort out our blog subscriptions before it does happen. All the junk we leave behind – real and virtual – it all needs sorting. The servers that hold the virtual junk use a lot of energy – I am just saying.
At this juncture I feel like I should add some calligraphy porn for those who subscribe to see some fancy writing. I have this, it is made from scraps of calligraphy, and I didn’t give much thought to the words I included. I made it back in May and haven’t looked at it since until today – and now it appears to have a theme! Weird.
To summarise: Please unsubscribe to stop receiving this tosh!!! Don’t unsubscribe if you like receiving this tosh!!! End of Broadcast.
Oh! I look forward to the tosh! Sometimes it’s even quate posh.
And I wasn’t aware that I am an email subscriber! I thought you reached my laptop via a reader. (Oh dear, that’s going to get some of the wags making cheeky comments…perhaps I’d better stop before I make things worse. Oh, gosh!)

Statistically speaking, I think that your tosh is better than 97.8% of other people’s tosh, which often amounts to nothing more than common or garden piffle. Just the thing to distract one from the absolute state of one’s moat. Splendid work, Scarlet: keep it up.

I always open your email. However, I don’t visit your blog directly from the email. I visit your blog through Mr. DeVice’s sideboard. In fact, I use Mr. DeVice’s sideboard as my diving-in point for other blogs, too, because he has everyones’ blog links neatly lined up on his sideboard, and sometimes those links even include thumbnail photos.

Ms Mistress – Mr Devine’s sideboard is a thing of beauty!! And now you mention it, neither Dinah, Mels, nor I have instigated a sideboard invasion for a while – which is such fun to do from a WordPress blog. I will have to look through my photo library, and knitting patterns, to rectify that.
Thank you for reading my emails!

Why, thank you Very Mistress and Ms Scarlet!
P.S. Ideally, nearly all blog links on my Sideboard should have a thumbnail photo, but Blogger seems to be very picky nowadays about who it will allow a photo from. My Sideboard used to be repleat with thumbnail photos, but those days are long gone, sadly.
P.P.S. Ms Scarlet, I would be amenable to another actor/comedian looky-likey in a knitted garment of some sort – like that Hugh Laurie-a-like you plonked on my Sideboard a little while back. But not Ricky Gervais or Michale McIntyre, please.

I don’t get your posts through emails, I just check in on a random basis, which is why I’m often a few days late in reading them (hangs head in shame). A juicy bit of tosh always sets me up for the day, so keep toshing away when the mood takes you. Oh and thanks for the useful advice on where to place my postage stamps. Misplacing them would be too humiliating.

I am becoming more and more unsatisfied with wordpress, because they make things worse, more complicated. For example, to link a link and make it open in a new tap, now requiers three or four clicks, not one, as it used to be. Other things get complicated too.
They want to sell stuff. I do not want to be sold stuff. Maybe blogger finally IS an alternative. Comes with the benefit that I could easily reach other blogger blogs that are unreachable now (The Mistress, FN, and others).
Maybe next weekend. If I do not have other things to do …
BTW the first comment, I think it started as a joke around “here sits the dog’s hair”. I mean, it’s all about Sid anyway, isn’t it ?!

Mr Mags – Will you import your WordPress blog? It feels daunting, but I think it’ll be for the best. WordPress is always pushing products on me that I don’t want. I’m not sure how photos will look on Blogger… hmm…and Dinah? I will feel bad about leaving Dinah. Hmm, I probably will jump ship as I am fed up with the cost of it all here. I pay and I still have to use emergency codes to break into my own blog. Nightmare. I’ll have a closer look tomorrow.
And yes, I think Sid would be happier on Blogger, too!

The converter didn’t work for me, Mr Mags, I just got an error message. The one I found didn’t work either. This has led to some ponderment. I may just start afresh at Blogger and link back to this old battleship. I shall leave the baggage behind me. I might keep the domain though.

Mr Peenee – I read about the suspension on Ms Nations blog, what are you going to do? WordPress is being peculiar lately, and it’s not like it used to be. I’ve got half a mind to return to Blogger because WP is getting more and more complicated.
I had an email sent from this site to my Gmail account and Google told me not to open the link to this Blog because Wonky-Words might be conducting suspicious activity, or some such. I guess everyone getting an email from here also gets the same warning!
I hope WP gives you your blog back, and restores it to its former glory, otherwise I hope to see you on Blogger.

WordPress made it very clear there is no coming back there and to not let the door hit me on the way out. I tried just exporting it back to my original publisher, Blogger, but when I exported the blog from WordPress, it downloaded as some weird file format that does not work on any other platform. I am working on it, but becoming increasingly concerned.

Mr Peenee – I’m going to have another look at the import/export situation today. I had a Google last night – and there were instructions about it – they were as clear as mud, but I will poke around in it some more.
There also seems to be apps that can help you move you across – but I looked at them through a cynic’s eyes!

You need to add the “s” to the “http” for Blogger to make it work. Everything there has so be a secure site (that’s what the “s” in the URL means, btw). I had problems getting to Mistress MJ’s a while back and just changed the bookmark in my blog links widget. Jx

There is a Youtube video called How to Put a Stamp on an Envelope, it has been viewed 57k times! It’s true. When you put a stamp on an envelope, at the top right hand corner, do you use a ruler like Mrs Bucket does in the opening credits of Keeping Up Appearances?
A new post from Scarlet, tosh or otherwise is always welcome in the Flange household, in fact, I’ve been known to make a cup of tea to mark the occasion.

Mitzi – I must look up that YouTube! I need some helpful hints as I’ve been mildly chastised for wonky placement of stamps in the past. A ruler! I could have done with one of those when I made the collage – it’s even more wonky in real life, and the strips really needed to be straight.
Thank you, Mitzi – looks like my tosh will be moving back to Blogger!

I must admit to getting a little bit excited when I notice an email telling me there is tosh to view from you! And, I must also admit that I am one of those who doesn’t open your blog from the email – instead, I visit via my Sideboard (but I do so almost immediately after viewing the email – which may be a couple of days or so old as I don’t check my emails every day…).
P.S. One can make out the word ‘tosh’ using letters from the narrow brown strip under “Let the direction be written”. Bravo!

I’m very pleased that my tosh still tickles your fancy, and talking of tickling – 69! Over at Mistress Maddie’s- 69! Have you been filming yourself in the shower again? I thought I was bad. Oh, dear, it sounds like I have inadvertantly got myself a reputation through poorly worded observations. I only meant that all the points in Maddie’s scorecard thingy add up to 69, not that all MY points add up to 69. I’m “only” a lowly 21. Or possibly a slightly less lowly 29. Possibly.
