Apparently I all but promised to slap up a post on Sunday. It is true, I did, but interested readers will have to make do with photo randomness instead. Would you like to see my pot of pansies? Okay then…
Maybe a snap of my wildlife pond? This was my pond on 21st May…
And this is it today….
Finally, no mini-tour of my garden would be complete without a glimpse of my glorious pink bush…

Drowsy sort of day, isn’t it? Just the gentle buzzing of distant Flymos and a ruddy Boeing every 90 seconds to disturb the p and q. Mind you, once the temperature rises the corkindrills in the moat do tend to get a bit lively, but I don’t suppose you have that trouble in your pond? Compliments on the bush, Scarlet, as per.

Mr Batarde – It is a drowsy day! And thankfully the haymaking machinery is quiet – but I can hear a low growl of a nearby mower. I might send my crocodile round to eat it – no need for a mythical reptile when a real one will do!

Mr Devine – I think this is the first sighting of the pond on this blog. It is more like a swamp, and Sid isn’t allowed anywhere near it, he would probably drown in it as there is so much weed.

I have bush envy, and I love your pansies. I failed to plant anything this year so all I have is a great deal of creeping buttercup and nettles. X

Eryl – I have an abundance of nettles, creeping buttercup, AND, ground elder. Ack, we can console ourselves with the knowledge that the birds and the bees love all these weeds. I also have a dandelion infested lawn!
It is nice to have a little control over a few pots though!

I have pond envy.
They have a section on Gardener’s World called Viewers’ Videos, I for one would be delighted to see you squatting amongst the shrubbery clutching your pink one. It would certainly boost ratings.

How ironic, I’ve been watching a lot of YouTube videos because I want to make a natural wildlife pond. It would be the peace d resistance to my habitat, alsa, I have injured my shoulder on another big project I was doing, so it’s only YouTube for now. I love all the pictures!

Mels – All we’ve done here is mostly leave it alone – but sometimes it needs some pond weed removal. The whole swamp is alive with newts and frogs and is home to many insects. The birds also use it to bathe in, which is fun to watch.

Lovely photos of the Scarlet Blue estate, including the notorious swamp. But I don’t see the gazebo or the tree house. Have they been taken for firewood? We would like some creeping buttercups in our lawn but they don’t come near us for some reason.

It is very pleasing to see the wind over a Gerstenfeld, it’s barley I think. Like a surface of water when you look on it from above.
I did not know that you have a pond in your parks. Who or what lives there ?

Mr Mags – I know! The barley is an ocean of green – very calming to watch on a warm day.
The pond is home to all manner of creatures – I leave it alone and don’t disturb their peace.

My landscaping knowledge is limited. I know an oak tree when I see one. I grew up with a weeping willow so I recognize those. This is the first I heard the term “wildlife pond”. Is there a wildlife garden to go along with the pond?
Life can be wild but the wildlife don’t care.
(I might just put that on a T-shirt)
