Hallo Deutschland!!!

My stats are telling me that I am super popular in Germany and that views of this blog site have gone up 3,210% thanks to my German fans!!! Or a server based in Germany, who knows? In any case I thought I would welcome my new viewers and ask: Who sent you here???? Are you here for calligraphy??? Are you here for my ingenious prose? Should I ask this in German???? Okay then….

Curtesy of Google Translate, cos I don’t know any German.

Meanwhile, apologies to my loyal chums who generally stick with me through thick and thin. It has been too hot to do much other than stand on cold tiles and whinge about being too hot. I will try to catch up with my blog reading at the weekend, or later today.

Here is my latest collage…

I’d be “deep in thought” too, if I’d been sacked!

    Or should I say:
Ich wäre auch „tief in Gedanken versunken“, wenn ich entlassen worden wäre!

      Good evening, Jon!
Mrs Robinson seems to lack empathy.
My goodness, but isn’t this a warm evening, I see that the South East is going to have a week of it – sleep well! I think I might be up early.

It’s been another “PHEW! WHAT A SCORCHER!” day today here in London, and there’s still more to come this weekend. As you will see from my blog, we have also suddenly gained loads of light after two enormous trees in our immediate vicinity have finally been felled, so the plants that had got used to their semi-shaded environment are suddenly being fried… Gulp.

I probably should be up early, too (although I somehow doubt it, given my propensity for late nights and lie-ins on the weekend), with a view to moving stuff around out there! Jx

I clicked “like” and this came up:
wonky-words.com doesn’t support a secure connection with HTTPS
You usually connect to this site securely, but Chrome couldn’t use a secure connection this time. An attacker might be trying to eavesdrop or modify your network connection. Learn more about this warning

I don’t know what the bejeezlehoop is going on!

Hello Dinah! I thought you’d given up on blog commenting after the move. Haven’t heard from you over mine for a while.

Anyhoo, that message doesn’t make sense to me, as when I checked the URL for the home page for Wonky Words, it is a secure site (“https://”)…

Chrome is a strange beast – I prefer Firefox over any other browser. Jx

Dinah – I am definitely HTTPS. BUT, I am a little puzzled by the German interest, maybe they are eavesdropping on these very private comments!?

Honestly! Things are getting so damned muddled and annoying these days! Right now, I’m trying to get a huge load of laundry done before the rain returns. Blog woes will have to “take a number.”

Dinah – Seems that Chrome is getting its knickers in a twist and can’t read WordPress certificates, which is ridiculous. Anyhow, I’m not asking for any credit card details so all should be well!

Savvy – I remember Big in Japan! Spooky, but it was the debut single by a GERMAN synth band called Alphaville – but you knew that?!!

Oh, Ms Scarlet! My excitement at seeing a post from you turned to shock upon seeing Mr Robinson WITH HIS BRACES DOWN! Perhaps next time you could put up a warning?
(Although, I’m curious as to whether this flagrant disregard of all that is decent and proper will boost your stats even more. Will it encouarage even more Germans?)

Apologies, Mr Devine, for the lack of a warning – but check out that vest!! Glorious. Mr Robinson was infamous for his fine undergarments.
I hope Mr Mags sees fit to visit this post to explain the German visitations; he is our mouthpiece for his nation after all. He will surely know what is going on.

A spike of more than 3 thousand percent ?! Kuuhl ! Is it all one new visitor, or a number of different lurkers ? And what did they look at ? Questions abound …
there is another possibility that some web crawler, possibly for a search engine, found your blog and updated their data. But frankly, I have no idea. I once saw the same happen to my statistics, a spike out of the blue, it was one single US address. Do not know who all of a sudden had too much interest in my blog.
Seems that Ms Robinson had no other chance but to turn her interest to the graduate.

And thank *you* as well, for sticking with me through thin and thin.

Don’t be misled by foreigners. I think we’re all justified in being a wee bit sceptical of Germans bearing gifts.

Hooray! I’ve arrived fashionably late! The news of Europe heatwave has miraculously found a way to be reported even here in the U.S. despite Trump constantly taking up all the air with his authoritarian antics. I’m sorry, it sucks. I particularly hate how it messes up ones sleep cycle. It is only in the last 10 years that Seattleites and the rest of us in Western Washington, British Columbia and parts of Oregon have had to relent and buy air conditioners. Now, more worry about the price of energy costs and less sleepless nights.
