All Better….

Thank you for your well wishes – they worked, I am now well, other than a bit of a sniff. Having Covid was an experience – it was like having a cold and the flu at the same time, the one blessing was that although it was intense it was also short lived. It felt like it went on forever but in reality I was only glued to the sofa for about a week. My advice if you catch it is to do absolutely nothing until the worst of it passes and that way you will probably heal faster. Most people already know this! I was thankfully very late to the party.

Meanwhile, I am trying to get back into calligraphy and being a little bit creative. I feel very bland and unimaginative – but I managed to make this….

Car Crash

And when the sun came out [briefly] it was time to make hay leaving the view green and pleasant…

Pretty Colours

Moody…

As a bonus, and because I’ve been sifting through old photographs, here is a picture of me that I managed to develop from a very old negative with help from a iPad app.

Someone give her an After Eight…or a Campari

You do look a bit like the “Campari an’ lammanade” girl. (But you’re much more refined!)
Very pleased you’re over the Covid. How’s the rest of the household? Poor Sid must have been desperate for a fence post!

Dinah – Mr Blue still has an annoying cough. I have instructed him to ring the doctor, so he might get an appointment in a month’s time.
Yes, Sid suffered! I did struggle to get him out, and he did miss a couple of days, and when I did manage to get him out I barely got further than my gate. All back to normal now.
The photo of me reminds me of an eighties advert!! I would have been thrilled with that, but didn’t think it at the time.

Exactement, Dinah!! I was at a very posh wedding, on the posh side of the family – I think it might have been the last occasion they ever invited me to. Lorraine Chase was an icon!!

Eryl – Oh I loved Bananarama!! One year after this and I had proper Bananarama hair and lacy fingerless gloves.
I could decorate a wall in my room with collages! the only issue is how slow I am at making things – I might finish a wall by the time I’m 96!!

Glad to hear that you have shaken off the viral scourge, Scarlet: you must be feeling comparatively chipper if you’re collaging again. There’s no mistaking which decade that photo came from, is there? Very demure and sophisticated.

Mr Batarde – Looks can be very deceiving!!!
I am feeling a lot better, but I am not happy with my collage. I feel sort of stuck with creativity, and very bleurgh.

The photo of you looks a bit Princess Di.
I’m glad there were no big consequences from the covid, a week on the couch is a very sensible way to approach it

Where have I been? You had covid?!?!? I’m sorry. I’m glad you are all or mostly recovered now. I’m glad you’re back into the calligraphy too. Don’t forget to take pictures of rocks! I need to post a reminder.

Mels – I think I might have some rocks in my photo library, I hope these will do as there aren’t really any rocks in my immediate vicinity – Oh – I know what I could send…..

Glad you’ve shaken off the covid. I got it last July, I suspect from a barista at Caffe Nero. I like the old pic of you. Looks as if you’re asleep, your eyes are closed. A wall of collages would be rather wonderful. I’ve booked a viewing for your 96th birthday.

Oh that’s the hilarious sewing machine difficulties in Tanganyika. I sent the whole exchange to a few people.

And what a gorgeous photo of you! Golly, you’d have turned my head!

Looby – The sewing machine incident goes on and on and on….
It’s an interesting photo of me – I look calm, relaxed, and sweet – I really wasn’t calm or relaxed!

Ms Mistress – I think I should design a course on how to do nothing as some people struggle with it, but it really is good advice for anyone who has a passing illness. I’m sort of pleased that I’ve got the Covid thing out of the way as I worried about how I would respond to it. And now I have some fresh antibodies for Summer!
I shall sing ‘Jerusalem’ on my walk today in your honour.

So good to hear you are well and picked up your calligraphy pens again.
Lovely picture of you at that posh wedding.

You have been very quiet lately, Bill. I hope you are okay?
I have resolved to make a bit more time for calligraphy.
As for diseases, etc, there are some horrors out there that I don’t want to know anything about in a personal way!

Sweetpea! Glad you’re well and back in the swing, so to speak, of things! I did think I’d posted a comment here earlier, but it seems I was mistaken. Anyway, lovely photos and lovely YOU! xoxo

I have taken heed of your covid advice in case I ever get it (unless I’ve already had it and didn’t have any symptoms?), and I’m very happy to hear that it didn’t linger for long (I hope Mr Blue is better now, too).

Is that Deborah or Debenhams below the zip-up cardie?

Oh, and is that the local branch of the Happy Cow Fortune Joy Luck Rendering Plant™ on the crest of that undulation?

P.S. Yes, a very young Patricia Hodge. In a Flake advert.
