Happy Halloween!!!! [Part 2]

That devil – Mr Devine – has turned me into a mouse wearing a red napkin. I will deal with him later, after I have recovered from the shock of:-

a) Being a mouse
b) Seeing The Terrifying Triffidery Event
c) Getting my foot caught in my keyboard
d) Having a bat flying around my bedroom in the middle of the night, and being too frightened to film it for my glorious Halloween post. I did indeed scream. But bats are harmless.

As it is I have nothing spectacular to say this Halloween. It is cold, wet, and miserable, and looks like this outside…

….and that was at 10am – imagine how it is now!!!

So apologies for my mediocre, less than spine tingling post. I shall finish with a tune so that there is not a huge empty space beneath my well considered words.

Well, you could have been a cat (without the foot-in-keyboard problem), but you had to have those last two Ferrero Rocher, didn’t you?! (One less Rocher would have resulted in a squirrel, fyi)

Your 10am lane looks like it was getting into the spooky spirit, and should put off any prospective trick-or-treaters?

    Happy Hallowe’en!

I will sort you out later, Mr Devine! Let’s hope I don’t nibble on something in The Orangery.
Yes, the light this morning was very spooky! On Halloween a few years back I came across a puddle of blood – I do have photographs of that, but I considered them too grim for publication.
The tricksters don’t do well on the lanes – plus it’s lashing down with rain as I type, which should keep everyone indoors.

How come I only get earworms I don’t want to hear – the type of tune that would drive you nuts….. well this is giving me ideas for a plot twist *rushes off to proper keyboard*.

Mitzi – Well, they’re the stories I remember – of bats getting tangled in hair, hence the screaming. It was removed with a blanket in the end, and it safely flew away.
It does look like it could be a hanging tree – but hopefully it’ll never be put to use!

Jon – Nope, I have something far worse than that in mind – but it might take me a while to find it, and I might regret it if I do find it!

Dinah – You wait, I have the perfect ear worm in mind – hopefully I can find it on YouTube, and I will write a jolly post about it soon. It’s haunted me for decades!! As if Enya isn’t annoying enough!

I was once caught up in a “Cleopatra, Comin Atcha” loop in 2010 after hearing it on the radio for the first time in yonks, my maid of all work was sick with worry, she called 111 for advice, so I hope it’s not that.

I would boldly walk down that lane to discover where it leads. It is cold, dark and rainy here too. I’m just grateful to have power back. We lost power for 12 hours yesterday! I’m working on the Leaf photo submissions today so tomorrow it will all feel less daunting after a sugar and caffeine-induced headache.

Mels – Apologies, I have been remiss in sending leaf photos. I think I am a bit knackered.
We’ve had plenty of power cuts this year – the worst was back in February, when I lost most of the food in my freezer after 24hrs. We are having solar panels installed this week, after much consideration.
The lane will lead you to my house, eventually – I’ll put the kettle on!

And to think — that’s actually 11am in the old money! What a beautiful sky and landscape though — if a bit windy if the tree in the foreground is anything to go by. Hope you’re wrapped up warm!

Looby – Apparently it’s mild out, but I’ve felt chilly all day – I have the sniffles, hopefully nothing serious! I’m not looking forward to walking when the temperature drops and the wind whips up.
The skies can change in minutes round here – 4 seasons in one walk!

We were well prepared for trick or treaters with a huge bowl of chocolate bars, but they were all being very polite this year and taking a maximum of two bars. Rats, now we’ll have to eat the rest ourselves….

Yikes! A bat flying round our bedroom would scare me witless.

Ah yes, the tree, that’s Headless Rider’s, a bit unfamiliar without the fog … Here the bats stay outside, I really do not want one in my bedroom.
Just out of curiosity, how did you get yer food stuck in the keyboard ? Was it in your mousing days ? The idea of a mousy MsScarlet (with red napkin !) grows on me, I like it – but am very happy with your de-mousing too. I hope you are already de-sniffled, and allwell.

Sympathy for the blogger. Please to meet you, hope you guess my name. (maybe I could work on a rewrite but I probably will not)

Halloween was fun. We had a few costumed kids show up at our door.
    Good song selection.
