Exciting News!!! Shop now open!!!

Iam now available to buy on Etsy!!! Not me personally [that would be illegal], but my collages. It has taken me forever to make enough collages, photograph them all, and then tackle the steep learning curve that is Etsy, and although my shop isn’t the slickest in town, it is open, and it’s enough for now. I have added a link on my sidebar.

Shop now open!!

Other news: I have been scrubbing. My house is now a dust free zone, and I have very shiny taps. I had let things slide a little since March and I suddenly snapped – my inner domestic goddess came alive and found there was fun to be had with a flexible hose and a long-nosed crevice attachment. She even moved the furniture.

So that’s what I’ve been doing. Apologies for the blog neglect. I am back now.

Well done, you canny girl — just in time for Christmas. I hope it takes off.

Can I raise a desirous question? (No, I am not proposing buying you on EtsyX, a dark web version of Etsy). I’m so used to seeing the little teddy there, as you have revealed each letter over the months (years?) and I notice he (she?) has friends there too. If I bought one I’d have to have Ted leaning against it. I wonder if you could find replicas of the charming bear and offer them as an optional accompaniment. Best of luck with the site. And I’m glad you had good results in your place after giving it some good suction.

Looby – Ha Ha!! I know – the bears [and the ducks] are the best things on this blog!! I have considered that the bears are more covetable than the collages. Sigh. My mum made them, years ago, but I have inherited the patterns for them – I may be gone for a while whilst I make tiny bears….

Mr Batarde – I need to do it, don’t? Open a boutique in St Ives I mean. I’ve always had a yen to sell those jolly windmill spinners, plus buckets and spade… and maybe ice-cream. I’m sure I can throw it all into the mix.

Oh, Scarlet! Hi thee hence! I am fighting a constant battle against grime and grubs! I NEED someone with your verve!

I think I am winning. The battle, if not the war. Dear gods of all peoples! It’s not easy being a critter-lover in this climate…

Dinah – It is a war!! I’m now prepared for the mud. Extra large doormats and runners have been purchased, and a strategy has been put into place. Come Spring I will still be spotless, though my back and knees might ache.

Good luck on Etsy. Taking good photos of all the items takes time and effort.
“inner domestic goddess” – hmm I’ve never enjoyed cleaning. More often my inner lazy fool shows through.

Bill – I’m not very confident in my picture taking abilities. Even bad photos take time and effort!
I don’t love cleaning, but I enjoy a clean house.

FANTASTIC! Love the shop, sugarpie! We’re still house sitting (how I’ve decided to describe our current nomadic life), but our contribution has been doing housekeeping! Somehow doing the work for the Krewe is less onerous than when doing the same on in our own place! xoxo

Savvy – Good to hear from you! Thank you!
I think it’s always easier to do jobs for other people – I have no idea why that is, but it’s true.

How marvellous! I like R for Rook (better than B is for Bloody Beaky!). I also note that you don’t entertain returns or exchanges for “intimate items” – have I missed the portal into the dark/Mirror Universe version of your Etsy shop, somehow??

P.S. I envy your time management – setting up shop *and* scrubbing your house is not to be sniffed at!

Mr Devine – Christ knows what Etsy would make of the FGES, which have been passed from country to country, have nestled in intimate areas, and have never been washed. I have no idea why I have mentioned the FGES – probably guilt, and the feeling that Rimpy is desperate for news.

Kylie – This week is my fourth week of keeping on top of the cleaning – I am rather proud of myself, and I do actually feel happier in my home because the dust mites and cobwebs aren’t nagging at me – so from my perspective the cleaning is probably worthy of the congratulations!!

Jenny was told by the doctor that she had rhinitis and needed to keep the entire house dust-free. For a few days we went through the motions of feverish cleaning but surprise surprise we lost heart and went back to our usual hopelessly lax cleaning regime (i.e. not doing any).

Best of luck with your new Etsy venture. Surely hundreds of enthusiastic customers are already banging at your door, so to speak.

Nick – The knack of cleaning is to never do it in a feverish manner – no blitzing. Blitzing is demoralising. Instead, 30 minutes a day, for 4 or 5 days a week. Choose a room, or area per day and give it 30 minutes. Bathrooms and kitchens need to be wiped everyday – just wiped, not scrubbed!
      Hark at me!
I have had one sale, and I’m rather chuffed about it, but I’m not expecting a rush!!

Congratulations on your new venture, I hope you sell out. I’ve had one of my daubs on display in a shop and it sold for the princely sum of 75p at the Dove House charity shop, Driffield, give me a thrill like no other. Cleaning, oh no, get yourself a live-in maid of all work.

I popped in yesterday and left you a message, instead of filling in the details below I clicked on the close tab above. Sleep deprivation.

Apologies, Mitzi, I am late to reply. I am also feeling the effects of sleep deprivation.
Do you get Carmen to pose for your daubs? I am imagining something along the lines of Picasso…. or Beryl Cook.
