Sunday Music – The Last Version

I am relinquishing the Sunday Music slot, and handing it back to Mr Mags. I think he has learnt his lesson, and from this point onwards I am sure he will take his duties seriously. Plus, I have noted that people miss having Sunday Music on a Tuesday, it confuses them for it to always be on a Sunday.

And with the word ‘last’ still reverberating in our ears, I bring you this little ditty, which I dedicate to Mr Lax

Goodbye my sweet friend.

Some of us are easily confused. I got myself all muddled-up wrongly this morning and thought it was Saturday. Which it probably is for some of you.
But you’ve posted music so I KNOW it’s Sunday. Thank you. And now I can look forward to Mago’s Musical Mayhem on Wednesday. Simples!

Oh. I was just thinking earlier on that this Sunday Music wheeze was a capital idea because it keeps you regular. Destined not to last, come to think of it – but nice whilst it lasted.

Always fun to mix it up and keep people wondering.
This Sunday Tuesday confusion reminded me of Sheryl Crow’s vending repairman who has a daughter he calls Easter. She was born on a Tuesday night.

Three weeks of Sunday Music on a Sunday is pretty good going. Leave on a high, eh?
I must admit, I shall be glad when Sunday Music on a Tuesday resumes, as I know then that I only have one enforced wake-up before my day off on Thursdays. Sunday Music on an actual Sunday is a little depressing as it just means three whole days of work in a row are coming up.

I’m not sure if I should admit this, but I don’t like The Beatles. However, I did listen to half of that song for Mr Lax.

STOP right there, young man!!! Mr Devine, I’ll have you know that this is my FIFTH Sunday Music!!! See how quickly you get used to the status quo!!!! And talking of Status Quo – it very nearly was, so count yourself lucky that I chose The Beatles instead.
It is okay not to like The Beatles. In my formative years [late 70’s-80’s] there was a bit of a 60’s revival, think Quadrophenia etc – hence I listened to 60’s music, and got into The Beatles. I think it’s common for each generation to be interested in the music of the decade they were born into [?]

Five weeks?? Gracious. Well, as the saying goes: “Time flies when you’re having fun”.

I forgot to mention: I did look up the lyrics to “All My Loving” – I know it’s not quite the same, but I agree that the words are fitting.

I also think that Meet the Beatles was the first album Mr Lax bought, hence I thought he might like it as this track is from that album 🙂

Thank you, Lulu! I have a lot of Beatles vinyl – and even some very scratched original singles. I also have a complete CD collection. I don’t listen to them enough these days.
