Registered First Class

Ihave been outside!! I know, crazy talk. I had a little trip to the coast and took a picture of the sea.

The rocky path to the sea…

Thankfully I did not break any bones whilst traversing the rocks. Though I did have an altercation with a seagull, which I turned to stone…. using superglue, obviously.

Turned to stone….

Meanwhile, back in the studio I am bordering on prolific as I have made another one of these….

It’s raw here…

Inspired by the icy weather at the weekend, I cut up some more vintage books to illustrate how I was feeling, and recycled a blog comment – we shouldn’t simply throw them away, should we? They will probably cause mayhem in the future if left abandoned all over the Blogosphere – think of the bots choking on the code!!

Keep your trousers on!!!

And, I decided my avatar would look fetching on a stamp….

First Class!!!!

Okay, Mr Devine, you can stop holding your breath now….

You were so brave, venturing out like that without even a pair of Uggs for comfort. Love the “seagull” – and the fact you have replaced Her Maj on our stamps! Yay! Jx

Jon – I know, soooo brave. It was chilly out there.
I do look good on a stamp, don’t I? Perhaps I should write to Royal Mail in my best handwriting and see if they’ll make it official.

Have you been catching crabs amongst the rocks? I haven’t done that in ages. It has been a bit nippy weather wise lately though a mini heatwave is due at the weekend. Time to get your cossie out.

Oh! We seem to be slated for heavy-ish showers even though it’s, what? mid-April and, boffin-wise, autumn.in the tropics.
Hey! Don’t knock it! I’ll take the rain, thank you very much.
But I do like your rocky gull and the stamp. HM as a flapper? Go! Liz!

Enjoy your showers, Dinah! We’ve had enough of all that in the West Country and are looking forward to a dry snap. And maybe we’ll get to squirt some sun cream around.
I shouldn’t take credit for the gull – it was pre-made, and I just snapped a picture 🙂

Mr Lax – The Post Office used to run a service where you could turn your own pictures into stamps, but it seems to be no more, which is a shame because then I could have sent you [or your friend] a genuine selfie stamp!!

Indeed, Mistress Borghese…. I will not be trifled with, nor will I be rolled in chocolate, or whisked into a pancake. I HAVE STANDARDS!!! Though the chocolate roll does sound fun.
      Thank you!

Dear Mistress, I am having a terrible time trying to comment on your blog – I think it’s a Blogspot issue, I think the ’embedded’ type of comment box has gone into meltdown and needs to be switched to ‘Full Page’ for the likes of me to make a comment. Pretty Please!

Blimey! It’s only been two days. All my breath-holding practice was for naught! Still, I’ll take the very sage trouser advice…

That’s a very rocky beach. Do “forners” visit it when the sun’s out, or is this one that they leave be? And that dot in the surf (almost in the middle of the photo), is that Aidan Turner during a break from filming Poldark? Is that the reason for your visit??

P.S. Another beautiful and intriguing collage!

      WHERE???? AIDAN!!!! WAIT……
You have to be fit to visit this beach – there is sand once you’ve clambered over the rocks, so it doesn’t get rammed with grockels 🙂
Meanwhile, your blog is also now off limits to me due to the comment box issue [please see what I wrote to Mistress Maddie]. Maybe Blogger will sort it out… or maybe I’ll just email my comments to you both!!

I have made my comments Full Page, just for you! Although, I don’t like it as there’s no reply function – plus, it reminds me of blogging years ago, and I told Tim that his similar Pop-Up comments window was quaint (not in a nice way). I will probably switch back and forth for a while in the hope that it fixes itself.

In other news, I was on the beach a little earlier, and I took of my shoes and socks, and rolled my jeans up to have a paddle. And I think the back of my neck is slightly sunburned. I know!!!!

Thank you, Mr Devine!! I’ve just got to persuade Mitzi, Mistress Maddie, and Kylie to do likewise… I know, I understand, we all want our blogs to look the way we like. I did try commenting with my iPad of last resort, but that didn’t work either.
Meanwhile, I defuzzed my legs in anticipation of having to take my socks off. There is the possibility of flip-flops in the air!

I have solved my commenting issues this morning!!! Apologies!!! I think it might have been user error. Anyhow, long story short, I switched my laptop off and on again and I am back in the room, so, er, yep, many thanks…. I will wander off now, NOT looking embarrassed AT ALL.

That’s a First Class stamp. Here in the States we have these “Forever” stamps and yours would make a great “Forever” stamp. Forever is only as long as the US postal service stays running.
Now for that featherless overweight seagull – have you no concern for body image issues among the seagulls?

I have seen the Forever stamps, Bill – they’re very pretty, and circular – I don’t think we do circular stamps here – they’d confuse us, and we’d think they were stickers.
I don’t think this gull is going to take off again…. or float. Gulls eat everything, I don’t think they care about body image!

The stamp’s great, as is the chubby gull. I do wish I lived nearer to the sea, hills just don’t offer the same expansive view. Looking forward to seeing how you develop your idea of making art from your blog – which already is art, so it’s like translation. X

They’ll be no getting to the beach this weekend, Eryl, it’s probably out of bounds until it starts raining again! They’ll be so many visitors that the lanes to the coves will be blocked.
Ha Ha!!! You get what I’m doing Eryl!!!!! It’s so fun!!

Gosh, the prospect of random defunct blog posts scattered all over the blogosphere is a bit worrying. Suppose marine creatures happen to be blogging and choke on a large blog-cluster? It doesn’t bear thinking about.

I’ll make sure I keep my trousers on for another week as suggested. You’re always so full of handy tips and suggestions!

    I love the seagull.

Nick – Thankfully marine creatures cannot get into the internet!! Goodness!!! Imagine that! We would all be electrocuted with all the water!! No, it’s all the wasted bits of text I’m worried about, those throw away words, typed so casually and then thrown into the virtual waste paper bin – I’m going to vacuum some of them up and make something of them.
You can take your trousers off this weekend, but come next Saturday I advise trousers, vest, a nice top, and possibly a thick jacket. Don’t say you weren’t warned.

Thank you, Mr Peenee!! The plan is to gather blog ephemera, turn it into art, have an exhibition, sell it and make a shed load money, which will then be spent on a home for elderly bloggers! So we will all benefit one day! I know, I’m a saint.

The red section looks so raised from the rest of it. I wonder how you do that. Actually don’t tel me. A woman should retain her mystery. Happy Easter Ms S from a warm-bordering on hot Bristol!

Re the seagull, sadly not my work; it was there when I arrived and I thought it deserved having its picture taken. You are right though, it was unstable, by the time I returned it had collapsed.

      Hello, Huguette, and welcome!
Thank you! I’m finding making these collages very therapeutic and they make me smile, they kind of make a narrative even when I not intentionally looking for one!
      Thank you for dropping by.
