Don’t let those clouds deceive you….
Cos I’m hot and bothered and bored I thought I would slap up a post and see if I could disrupt Mr Devine’s sideboard with a feature image. I am nice like that.
Meanwhile, my brain has melted and there is nothing but sloshy mush up top AND, another thing, my eyes have gone weird and I can no longer read AND, my right hand has also gone weird, so I can no longer write. Nothing is working! Appalling.
*Update* I have removed the feature picture, thus returning all affected sideboards to normal.

Yikes! I see in the news that parts of England are having Texas-like 99f/37c temperatures! How about Devonshire? Stay hydrated, Sid too.

I think we are about 26c right now, and Devon is supposed to have a deluge of rain on Sunday, yay!!! I am glad I don’t live in the South East any more, it’s especially hot where Mr Devine is. Too much for me! I am drinking plenty 🙂

I’m bovvered too. Batarde Towers is no better in a heatwave than it is in a cold snap, and my brain has gone all sloshy. A correspondent in the Former Colonies informs me that a “swamp cooler” is just the thing, but neglected to supply any further details. They don’t seem to be available in South East Blighty, but given your constant moaning about mud perhaps you’d have better luck in Devon? Just a thought … 🙂

It’s hot and muggy here, but that’s to be expected at this point. We’ve had lots of rain and thunderstorms, but nothing too serious out here anyway. Parts of Savannah have flooded, but again, not unusual when there’s a heavy rain and the tide is in. It could be a hurricane instead, so I’m not complaining…yet. xoxox

It is very hot in the East, but here on the coast, the North East wind is keeping things in the mid-20s. Those poor sods inland are suffering the 30s…

Oh! It’s gone. Never mind – I took a screenshot as evidence…
We’re due some rain overnight, but it will still be warm, I think. When I left work earlier, it was like walking out into an oven – so bloody hot! But, by the time I got home home 20 odd miles away, the temperature had dropped by about 12 degrees to a relatively balmy 24. I’m so glad I don’t live in the city any more.

I have some weather in envelopes ready to send, but I haven’t done it yet as I’ve run out of stamps. I’ll need a lot as the envelopes are quite small (I didn’t have any large ones), so I’m going to have to send several “sample-size” weathers. I hope this will be OK?

This looks strangely familiar – with the notable excepton that you have more hedges. here they removed lots of them years ago – only to plant them back, because they realise how useful these hedges are, as habtat for all kind of furry creatures, as wind breakers, and for prohibiting wed earth to slide.
I think that is Gerste on this field, barley – here it all is already harvested.
I also have difficulties with the eyes, I blame it on the ozone, the measured values must have been very high over the last days – nowadays they do not publish them in the news / weatherreports anymore, but when a certain threshold is reached they warn, “affected people should do no outdoors’ activities”. Interestingly ozone measurments can be higher on the countryside than in an urban environment.
I am only glad that I returned home without accident, and that I do not have to restart the vehicle for the next two weeks.
I am looking forward to the celestial theatre that is promised for this evening.
Very astounded about your right hand – is it writer’s cramp ? I hope it is nothing too serious, and, what is even more important, nothing persistant !

What’s happened to the enormous picture on my sideboard? it made a lovely muriel. It’s bloody ‘mafting’ as they say here in East Yorkshire I thought last night deluge would have cleared the air but it’s made it worse, like a Finnish sauna. We got those pesky thunderflies to look forward to soon.

We’ve been seeing the heat wave hitting the UK and Europe on the news over here in Central Canadia. I have a friend who has been roasting in Rugby. He says sleeping is the worst. And the lack of rain means water rationing. Living in a part of the world where there is a massive amount of fresh water, I don’t even know what that means. I hope you get some relief from the heat and dry soon! We have had lots of heat and thunderstorms here this summer. A nice gentle rain is preferable to the downpours but Mother Nature just does whatever she wants.

Lovely weather here in Northern Ireland. It’s been hot and sunny for months, with the maximum temperature no more than 25C. Everyone I know in England is complaining bitterly about the heat and hoping desperately for some relief. I’m glad I no longer have to travel on the London tube jammed against other sweating passengers at 90+ degrees.
A bit worried about your dodgy eyes and right hand. Have they righted themselves now?

You’re not falling apart. It’s a perfectly healthy and logical reaction to the climate. I’ve been reading about it. You’re all being driven mad. You’re not used to it. I read that English homes were actually designed to RETAIN the heat! Now, that’s just inconvenient. This post is a few days old. How are you feeling today? Better? Don’t forget to hydrate.
