Skyfall….

Apparently the UK is set for a windy storm, the forecasters are unsure as to how windy this storm will be, but it may be comparable to the storms of October 2000, January 2007, and March 2008 – none of which I remember. There has also been mention of the storm of January 1990 and THE GREAT STORM of 1987 [cat.87J for those in the know], and I remember both of these… which indicates that my long term memory is much better than my short term. All of these storms are probably mere breezes in comparison to the hurricanes and weather systems that hit the US and Canada… but I am anxious. The thing about the storm of 87 was that none of us knew it was coming, other than the nice lady who phoned the dismissive Micheal Fish to warn him, this time the Met office and the media have whipped us up into an expectant frenzy of anticipation… many of us are expecting to wake up Monday morning to find our roofs ripped off and trees sitting in our living rooms. I don’t see how being prepared helps that much…. other than I have my candles to hand and my phone is fully charged…. Mr Blue is working away from home, and to be honest he really should have changed his plans seeing as he will be camping in a forest tonight. In the south of England. Yes you did read that right. Even though he knew there was a big storm coming he still went. With his chainsaw. Thinking about it though, he could end up being quids in because he might end up having to help clear fallen trees from the roads… yep, knowing him he will go from COMPLETE IDIOT to hero within the space of 24hrs. He does already have a civilian medal type award thingy certificate do-dah for bravery. And it has recently crossed my mind [as recent as 3 seconds ago] that he might be a James Bond type person… this would make sense… I mean how would I know????? Next time he is off on his travels I will follow him and when I am caught I will say: No, Sweetie, of course I didn’t think you were having an affair, I THOUGHT YOU WERE A MEMBER OF THE SECRET SERVICE…. my suspicions are never average. Blimey, this could be True Lies all over again. This thought has quite cheered me up. AND if there is any truth in my suspicion then I’m sure this post will be deleted from the internet. I AM A GENIUS.
Anyhow, I seem to have strayed from the point of this post… I meant to write something along the lines of: Big storm coming; Bit scared; Might lose the power; Hope I don’t miss Downton; Will be under the stairs; See you Wednesday.

Ooh! Are we on the same psychic wavelength? I just emailed you! Hope all is well.. I’m sure Mr.Blue is not dallying. Well, I mean, it’s a bit parky this time of year for dallying, innit!

I think closing the blinds, curling up on the sofa until the power gets cut, then dozing off into a wine induced koma is a good program. Just extinguish the candles.
    Arnold Bond? Oh.

      More like premium bond.
Yep, I will be away to the sofa shortly.. sun’s gone in…dark clouds on the horizon, and a banging extractor fan, which is annoying.

Secret Agent Blue is probably more use where he is if lots of trees come down… which they might do because the ground is very soft and not all of the leaves have dropped yet… they probably will have dropped by Monday!

Here’s hoping your Secret Agent Blue stays safe. Sleeping in a tent?! In that kind of a storm!?! He’s mental. Just sayin’.

Make sure you stay indoors… given your small stature, you could end up in Scandinavia in no time. At least with your iPad charged, you can keep yourself occupied if the power goes out. A guy I work with is on his way to Paris as I type this. He could end up landing in Moscow, with winds like that! Be safe, warm and dry, Ms. Blue.. and your man as well. xoxo

He is definitely mental! I am staying indoors… When the time comes I’m not even going to venture out for a fag. Not looking forward to losing the power… and just in case I do I might cook my dinner early. A good excuse for an early feast 🙂

Well so far, Linzig, there’s no wind only steady vertical rain… This could all change, I will keep you updated, but I have a sneaky suspicion that it’s hitting a woodland in East Sussex…

I am not happy. It is too noisy to sleep… and it is a bit scary. I keep thinking it’s easing off and then it goes all mental again.
I still have power… which feels like a miracle.

If the storm is big enough, you’ll all be camping. He’s just getting a jump on things. Ha. Not funny.

I hate camping. I’m too big a baby for it. I work like hell so that I *DON’T* have to sleep in a tent. If my family and I are sleeping in a tent, something went horribly wrong. Like a big storm, for instance.

He survived, Mr Banish!! He camps in the wood because he manages woodlands. I am thinking of messaging him to say that he should head to Essex because Essex has run out of chainsaws!

Desperately need to know the deets of his civilian bravery – sounds very exciting! Did it involve his chainsaw or just bare hands? i wish James Bond would settle down with the new Moneypenny but alas apparently he can never do that, would destroy the storyline. At least your Bond found happiness in the final scene.

Bare hands, Jody! And I called him a complete idiot then as well. I may write a post about it in the future, but I will have to gain clearance from the proper authorities first 🙂

Quids in…. Means that he could make some money out of the situation. BUT Mr Blue would probably clear a tree for free if it was an emergency… he doesn’t really have a mercenary nature.

You seem to be weathering the elements quite well Miss Scarlett. I dislike wind of any nature. Living in a shed means that when the wind blows the ceiling tiles rattle…
I’m glad to hear thet you are both safe

I must admit that the acoustics in my bathroom are outstanding, but I wouldn’t want to disturb you, Mr Flies, so early in the morning; some things are best left private.

I do apologise Ms Scribble, but I do seem to be at a loss trying to comprehend just how 3pm comes under the ‘early morning’ banner. Perhaps only in a didine society setting perhaps?

Well I can tell you survived the storm. I was in the States at the time but returned to find 2 trees have fallen to the ground next door, which apparently is our land but I had no idea at all. Amazing how you find these things out when something goes wrong and money is involved. We’ve lived here for 10 years and never knew the land was in fact ours.
